An oriental rug that is authentic in nature is a beautiful craft that is handmade and woven or knotted with or without pile. There are many corporations that create carpets and rugs that appear to be oriental, but if they are made by machines and not made by hand then they are not technically considered to be authentic oriental rugs. There are many countries that are associated with creating these lovely works of art and function, and these include but are not limited to the countries of China, Vietnam, Turkey, Iran and India. People from a multitude of different cultures, religions, faiths and backgrounds are involved in the process of creating admirable oriental rugs.
What many people may not know is that oriental rugs are actually categorized. They are categorized according to different criteria, and some of these groups include Kurdish rugs, Caucasian rugs, East Turkistan rugs, Tibetan rugs and Persian rugs. Persian rugs are probably some of the most popular oriental rugs and they are in the homes of many people around the world. The cost of these rugs is generally fairly expensive, depending on which part of the world the rugs are purchased. Because they are made with great care and affection, they tend to sell for fairly high prices in the United States because of their reputation as reliable and dependable rugs. They can accent even the most simplistic or elaborate of homes, and because of this they are considered to be very attractive because of this ability.
